Mrs. Darling is back to Daylight Saving Time — and spring hours. The shop is open 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and noon-4 p.m. Sundays.

Don’t just sit there in the construction traffic for the Magnolia railroad crossing — stop in to Mrs. Darling’s and relax! There’s free parking along Sunnyside Drive as well as behind the shops.

Mrs. Darling’s Christmas Gala!

Yes, it’s that time of year! The vintage Christmas ornaments, twinkly tinsel and a bit of bubbly good cheer will be out for Mrs. Darling’s Christmas Gala, 10 a.m.—8 p.m. Saturday, November 13.

And it’s not just Mrs. Darling who will be celebrating… and not just Mrs. D and her neighbor, Patina Decor. There will not only be additional vendors on site, there will be a free limo shuttle from 3-7 p.m. to whisk merrymakers and savvy shoppers to Vintage Flair, Forget Me Not, Old Glory and Riverside Style Junkie — where there will be even more vendors!

Did we mention the food? Gifts? Sales? Door prizes?

Yes, this is the event everyone talks about all year — but this time it’s bigger and better!

We’ll see you there!

(And FYI, Mrs. Darling’s will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11-12, to prepare. No peeking!)

Fall Open House on Sept. 25

The first day of fall is officially Wednesday, but it starts for sure on Saturday with Mrs. Darling’s Fall Open House.

There will be loads of new merchandise (and, of course, snacks). Come celebrate the season with Mrs. D as well as her network of neighboring antiques stores — Patina Decor next door, Old Glory General Store at 4344 Market St. and Vintage Flair down the alley at 3778 Elizabeth St. (Both Mrs. Darling and Old Glory will be closed on Friday for final preparations, so there will be no peeking….)

And for your holiday shopping pleasure, starting Sept. 29 Mrs. Darling will be open 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays and noon-4:30 p.m. Sundays.

There’s going to be a sale beginning Thursday, June 24 and running through the July 4 holiday…. and it’s going to be Mrs. Darling’s biggest ever, with discounts of 10% to 50% — yes, 50%!

And don’t forget — with the new summer hours (see below), there’s Sunday shopping!

Thanks to construction connected with the Magnolia Grade Separation, Magnolia Avenue will be closed between Elizabeth Street (at Ralph’s) and Merrill Avenue (Staples) from 7 a.m. Saturday, June 26, through 5 p.m. Sunday, June 27. That doesn’t include Mrs. Darling’s, but that IS between the shop and downtown — southbound traffic will be detoured via Jurupa Avenue, northbound Brockton Avenue.

If this sounds confusing, please consult our handy map!

New hours for Mrs. Darling

11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Thursdays — Saturdays

Noon-4:30 p.m. Sundays

Sorry, all you midweek shoppers, but Mrs. Darling’s is now closed on Wednesdays; the good news is, there are official hours for Sundays… and you can always call (951) 683-3500 during store hours to make arrangements for after-hours antiquing.

And there are longer hours to shop Mrs. Darling’s stash of ephemera (postcards, calling cards, Victorian scrap, advertising cards, calendars, greeting cards, labels, prints, ads and pretty much any paper goods you can name) at the Mission Galleria, on Mission Inn Avenue across from the Mission Inn. The Galleria is now open until 9 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays; there’s a new restaurant and bar down in the basement. Mrs. D’s goodies are on the main floor, alongside a cache from another neighbor, Vintage Flair — when you enter the Galleria, keep to the right.

Ready for a spring road trip?

Mrs. Darling’s friends to the south, Vickie and Jaymie at Mora’s Antiques, are having a spring open house on Saturday, April 17, from 10 am. to 7 p.m.

They say they’ve got some great stuff saved up — plus some goodies they picked up in Texas at Round Top.

The shop is at 142 N. Main Street in Lake Elsinore; call (951) 245-5326. We’ve also posted a link to their Facebook page. Refreshments will be served.
